I’ve only been to Five Guys once and it was so long ago, I don’t remember much about it—except for the fries. Those crispy, golden, perfectly seasoned fries left a lasting impression, but everything else about the experience has faded from memory. Maybe it’s because I didn’t venture beyond the basics, or perhaps I missed out by not trying their milkshakes. In my internet travels, I ran across a viral ordering hack shared by some people on Reddit that’s making me rethink everything I thought I knew about Five Guys.

This hack involves an unexpected combination that’s gotten some buzz on Reddit, and I can’t stop thinking about it. I’m wondering if it’s time to revisit Five Guys, not just for those unforgettable fries but to finally experience this milkshake!

What Is the Five Guys Bacon Milkshake?

The Reddit post, started by user @BathroomUnlucky9691, starts off by asking other Redditors if they’ve had the Five Guys Bacon Milkshake, which was enough to get my attention, but the responses opened up a whole new world of sweet treats for me! 

Many people commented that they’ve had peanut butter milkshakes, Oreos milkshakes and a banana milkshake from Five Guys—one person even had a peanut butter, salted caramel and bacon milkshake. Now that sounds decadent!

To get any of these, all you have to do is ask for a vanilla milkshake and add your mix-ins. When we checked out the milkshake mix-in menu, it included 10 options: candy cane crunch (a seasonal mix-in), Reese’s cups, chocolate, Oreo créme (yes, just the white filling), salted caramel, peanut butter, Oreo cookies, strawberries, bananas and the famous (or infamous) bacon. 

There are a lot of great combinations here. For example, you could get a banana, chocolate and peanut butter milkshake, or you could request a peanut butter and milkshake with salted caramel swirled in. Strawberries plus Oreo cookies would also be a tasty combo, like a chocolate-dipped strawberry.

What Are People Saying About the Five Guys Bacon Milkshake?

If you’re wondering how people feel about the bacon milkshake, Reddit is full of comments about this milkshake—and others. While some people said they didn’t care for it, most people really love it.

“Yeah I liked it—eggs and sugar are the main ingredients of ice cream, and eggs go with bacon on a breakfast plate, as does maple syrup with bacon. So the pieces of bacon b in the milkshake (which are small, caramelised and crunchy) go well in a milkshake,” someone commented on Reddit. That’s some great logic!

“It’s delicious! I’ve had it in a peanut butter and vanilla shake, and would definitely recommend. Not sure my arteries would agree, though,” another person chimed in. 

“Literally my favourite shake. Used to love getting a coffee shake with bacon bits but they don’t do coffee where I live anymore,” another person commented. A coffee bacon milkshake would be the perfect breakfast shake!
