Overall, the Kindle Scribe offers a far better writing experience than it did when it first made its debut. That’s thanks to a plethora of new AI-powered features Amazon baked into the second-gen model, which are also available to first-gen Scribe owners. Notably, Amazon now lets you write directly on ebook pages and scribble notes in the margins, which makes for a more intuitive note-taking experience. The Scribe can also now summarize any notes you make in the built-in notebook, when connected to the internet, and refine your handwriting.

In addition to its new note-taking capabilities, the 10.2-inch Scribe continues to provide an excellent reading experience. The latest model offers thinner bezels and a textured display, but is otherwise almost identical to its predecessor, with a sharp 300ppi display that’s a pleasure to read on. It also retains an adjustable warm light for nighttime reading, which is a feature that many big-screen, note-taking ebook readers lack.
