Pyramid Global Hospitality and Marriott Bonvoy’s Tribute Portfolio have announced the opening of The Midland Hotel in Chicago’s Loop. Previously known as the W Chicago City Center, the hotel is undergoing a significant two-phase renovation.

Located in the heart of Chicago, The Midland Hotel is close to city landmarks including the Millennium Park, The Art Institute of Chicago, and the Chicago Theatre. It offers views from the Willis Tower Skydeck and is near the Chicago Riverwalk.

Thomas J. Baltimore Jr., Chairman and CEO of Park Hotels & Resorts, which owns the hotel, expressed his enthusiasm for collaborating with Pyramid Global. Due to its prime location and unique features, the hotel is expected to attract both business and leisure travelers.

The first phase of the hotel’s renovation will focus on public spaces, preserving the Beaux-Arts charm of the original 1929 building. This includes a revamped lobby reflecting the hotel’s social hub history. The second phase will see the transformation of the hotel’s 403 guest rooms and suites and enhancements to public spaces and its signature restaurant. The hotel’s meeting and event space, which spans 12,589 square feet, will also be upgraded as part of the renovation.

Guests can enjoy local dishes and creative cocktails at the hotel’s signature Midland Social Club & MSC Bar. As a part of Marriott Bonvoy’s Tribute Portfolio, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and redeem points during their stay at The Midland Hotel. The hotel offers a special introductory rate of 15% off for stays through April 30, 2025.
