Does anyone really need the temperature outside to drop in order to fully immerse themselves in fun fall fare? Sure, a cool breeze helps justify wearing our favorite scarves and sweaters a bit early in the season, but it’s not necessarily a deal breaker when searching for our favorite fall flavors. Some of the best retailers prefer to hit the ground running with seasonal releases, and Trader Joe’s is one of the all-time greats in terms of fan-favorite fall finds.

Despite being the year-round preferred topping for pancakes and waffles, maple syrup tends to shine even brighter during the fall season. Trader Joe’s shoppers have already been obsessing over a variety of maple-inspired treats, like this tantalizing bag of Maple & Sea Salt Kettle Corn and the long-awaited return of the brands fabled Organic Maple Butter. But there’s another maple-infused offering on the block, one that customers have already deemed “the perfect maple dessert.”

If a trip to Trader Joe’s was already in the cards this week, you might as well get your eyes on a box of the Maple Pancake Snaps. These tasty bite-sized cookies are made with maple syrup, molasses and cinnamon and would be the perfect add-in for a number of fall-forward desserts. Customers can expect to find 9-ounce boxes available for around $3.99, with roughly 54 cookies inside of each box.

“Making little ice cream sandwiches with these and the TJ pumpkin ice cream,” wrote one excited commenter in response to a post about the new maple offering shared to Instagram by Shannon of Trader Joe’s Obsessed.

In the caption of her post, Shannon describes the cookies as having “crunchy and creamy” textures that are just “so good.” Others have reported a similar basic flavor as TJ’s Maple Pancake Puffs, as well as being slightly oily to the touch and mostly crunchy and crumbly, unlike a ginger snaps texture.

The real challenge with these new maple-infused cookies is not devouring an entire box in one sitting. The box claims that one serving size equates to about six cookies, but we all know how six can easily turn into 12 on any given evening. Either stock up with a couple extra boxes or snack responsibly—it’s your move.
