Handily, Forbes has just released its list of places to travel in 2025, which reflects ‘a growing desire for unique, enriching travel experiences that prioritise personal well-being and connection with nature,’ as well as big, city-wide anniversaries and mega sporting events.
Topping the list is New Orleans, which is hosting the Super Bowl in February and will likely attract a whole load of sports tourists. However, the city’s food scene is a brilliant reason to pay it a visit – check out our favourite restaurants here.
Sumba, an Indonesian island which is only a 50-minute flight away from Bali but receives significantly less attention, has also made the list. For context, it’s twice the size of Bali but has around a quarter of the population, and is a popular spot for wellness breaks (a travel trend seeing an increase in popularity by around 16 percent each year).
Other inclusions are the Athens Riviera and Longbeat Key in Florida, but you can look at the 12-strong roundup below.
