Lainey Wilson is not attending this year’s People’s Choice Country Awards in Nashville.

Despite being among the nominees for the evening, the “Heart Like a Truck” songstress was a long way from Music City on Thursday, Sept. 26, when the second annual country show was taking place at the Grand Ole Opry.

Instead, Wilson was in Vancouver performing a show as part of her Country’s Cool Again Tour.

Wilson, 32, took to Instagram on Thursday to remind fans that she wouldn’t be making an appearance at the Nashville event. Instead, she shared a pre-show selfie with the caption “Hey Vancouver” to her Story.

At this year’s awards show, Wilson is nominated in three categories, including People’s Artist, Female Artist, and Female Song for her track “Hang Tight Honey” from her latest project, Whirlwind, which was released on Aug. 23, 2024.

Wilson did previously address her nominations at this year’s show, taking to social media social media with her reaction to the news. “Absolutely unreal y’all! 🙏Thank you @peopleschoice for the incredible nominations. Y’all tune in Sept. 26! #PCCAs,” she previously shared via Instagram and Threads.

Meanwhile, it has been an exciting time for the country songstress, as she recently announced another major career (or should we say business) move.

Earlier this month, Wilson shared that she opened a bar and restaurant on the “Honky Tonk Highway,” or the famous section of Broadway in Nashville, Tenn., where country music superstars like Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Garth Brooks, and Dierks Bentley have hung out their shingle with themed bars, restaurants and performance spaces.

“I’ve had a dream of opening my own bar on Broadway for years,” the “Wildflowers and Wild Horses” songstress wrote on Instagram, revealing that she “always said that if I ever had my own place, it would be called Bell Bottoms Up and I would bring a bit of Louisiana to Nashville.”

She further invited her supporters to “Come on by, grab a drink and a bite of some Louisiana cookin’ 🪩✨.”
