The Sitio, a 20-room boutique hotel, is set to open in mid-March at Atlantic Park, a new retail, dining, and entertainment district in Virginia Beach anchored by North America’s first Wavegarden Cove surf lagoon. Located within the city’s ViBe Creative District, the hotel is steps from the Atlantic Ocean and the Atlantic Park Surf lagoon.
Guest rooms feature natural materials, custom surf racks, and hand-selected works of art, with décor inspired by art, music, and surf culture. Seven rooms offer private balconies with views of the surf lagoon. All rooms include Belgian Libeco linens and locally sourced details. Furnishings and elements throughout the hotel were crafted by local artists, including a front desk made from a tree trunk by Benevolent Design Co. Trees removed during construction have been repurposed into pieces by Benevolent, Goold Furniture and Design, and Wooden Object Studios. Leather key fobs were made by North End Bag Co. A selection of custom items and goods from local partners will be available for purchase in the hotel lobby.
Art is displayed throughout the property, with works from local and international artists, including French artist JR and Virginia Beach–born artist Schuyler Beecroft. Atlantic Park collaborates with artists on murals throughout the development.
Music playlists at The Sitio will be curated by Pharrell Williams’ team, referencing the site’s history as the former location of a live entertainment venue, now The Dome by Rutter Mills.
The Sitio is within walking distance of Atlantic Park Surf, The Dome, and a variety of dining and retail options, including Nami Nori, Johnnie-O, Hampton Social, Wiseguy Pizza, The Grill, Faherty, Lululemon, and Quiet Storm Surf Shop.
Guests will have access to programming connected to Atlantic Park’s year-round events. The hotel’s concierge team can assist with booking surf sessions, arranging private surf lessons, or requesting in-room surfboard delivery with custom wax.
The Sitio will open in mid-March. Seasonal rates start at $369 per night during the off-season and $569 per night in-season.
