Campbell’s Chunky has spent decades convincing people its soup “eats like a meal.” Now the brand is taking that slogan one step further.

For the first time ever, Campbell’s Chunky is heading to the freezer aisle with a new hearty lineup of protein-packed frozen meals inspired by some of its most popular soup flavors.

Options span from comfort-food classics to delectable mashups, including Beefy Pasta with Stroganoff Sauce, Buffalo-Style Chicken Mac and Cheese, Bacon Cheeseburger Mac & Cheese, Chili Mac, Country Fried Chicken with Mashed Potatoes, Meat Lovers’ Lasagna, Philly Cheesesteak Mac & Cheese, and Cheesy Loaded Potato Bowl with Steak and Bacon.

Each bowl contains up to 28 grams of protein, making them convenient for shoppers looking for a meal without much prep. “Chunky has always stood for bold flavor and real satisfaction in a soup that eats like a meal,” Chunky’s frozen brand manager, Gunner Siverly, told Food Dive. “With Chunky Frozen Bowls, we’re bringing that same fill-you-up promise to the freezer aisle.”

The move also taps into one of the biggest trends in grocery stores right now: protein. According to the International Food Information Council, about 70% of Americans say they’re trying to eat more protein than they were just a few years ago, making high-protein convenience meals increasingly popular. This shift is fueled in part by the rise of GLP-1 medications, which often require users to prioritize protein intake to help fill nutritional gaps.

Rather than introducing an entirely new brand, Campbell’s is expanding one shoppers already know and love, following a growing industry trend of bringing familiar favorites into new sections of the grocery store.
