The Springs Resort, a renowned wellness destination in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, is set to undergo a transformative expansion by April 2025. The expansion will include 78 new guest rooms, a thermal spa, a Panoramic Sauna with halotherapy, new wellness amenities, a fresh culinary concept, and modern event spaces.

The Springs Resort in Colorado, well-known for its commitment to geothermal wellness, plans a significant expansion set for completion in April 2025. The resort is home to the world’s deepest geothermal spring, fondly called “The Mother Spring.” The expansion aims to broaden the resort’s commitment to its unique approach to relaxation and wellness, ‘Soakology’.

In addition to relocating its spa, the extensive renovation will double the resort’s terraced geothermal mineral soaking pools along the San Juan River at the base of the Rocky Mountains. The expansion will also introduce a new thermal spa, a Panoramic Sauna with halotherapy, and new wellness amenities, all under the guidance of the resort’s Vice President of Wellness, Sharon Holtz, and Medical Director, Dr. Marcus Coplin, ND. Furthermore, an innovative culinary concept called Wild Finch is set to open in May, along with versatile modern event spaces.

“This is more than an expansion. It’s a defining moment for hot springs wellness in the U.S.,” said Sharon Holtz, Vice President of Wellness. “We are setting a new standard for transformative well-being experiences.”

The newly designed pools are intended to provide varying wellness experiences, utilizing the therapeutic benefits of soothing sounds, breathtaking views, reflexology pathways, and contrast bathing. The expansion will also include a dedicated wellness activity pool offering guided water-based wellness experiences, including Aqua Yoga, Aqua Floating Meditation, and Warrior Plunge.

The spa will also feature a dedicated movement and yoga studio for guided fitness sessions and outdoor activity areas for immersive wellness experiences.

The Springs Resort will also introduce a new culinary destination, Wild Finch. Slated to open in May 2025, the signature restaurant will feature a wellness-focused menu created with locally sourced ingredients. Led by Executive Chef Daya Myers and The Springs Resort’s Director of Nutrition Sarah Goudie, the dining experience aims to strike a balance between indulgence and wellness.

Dr. Marcus Coplin, ND, The Spring Resort’s Medical Director, said, “With the addition of our immersive guest accommodations, expanded geothermal soaking pools, enhanced spa and dedicated wellness spaces, The Springs Resort is evolving into a comprehensive wellness retreat.”

The expansion will also feature a new poolside dining experience, 1881 Poolside Provisions, offering an array of shareable plates, a curated cocktail menu, and a selection of beer and wine.
