Celebrity Trainers Say These Are the Top Health and Wellness Trends of 2025

1. Pilates-inspired classes are on the rise

It’s all about the core in 2025, according to Aryan Rashed, the founder and CEO of nationwide high-intensity Pilates studio Tremble. “Whether on the reformer or the mat, people are more focused than ever on longevity and endurance with high-intensity, low-impact workouts,” explains Rashed, whose celebrity clientele includes A-Rod, Karli Kloss, Alix Earle, Olivia Culpo and Adriana Lima.

From beginners to pro athletes, people can’t get enough of the upbeat, fast-paced setting of her classes that fuse the traditional elements of Pilates alongside cardio bursts and strength training segments.

Westport, Connecticut-based creator of the SSN Method, Sarah Sadie Newett, agrees Pilates and yoga are trending—especially post-holidays.

“Whether you invest in a Pilates 10-pack or a month of unlimited yoga, these modalities beat the bloat while effective movement creates structural strength, length and beautiful lines,” she says.

2. Recovery methods have never looked better

Rashed is also seeing a huge uptick in centers that either solely focus on recovery or multifunctional spaces that integrate it within existing fitness studios and gyms. “Fitness is taking a broader category into wellness which includes ways we can enhance performance and also focus on mental health that helps us become better,” she shares. “Be it cold plunges and ice baths or saunas with infrared lights, these amenities which are well-known for athletes have become commonplace in the health and wellness world.”

Dani Coleman, Jennifer Aniston’s Pvolve trainer, seconds this notion. “Recovery will take center stage as people embrace holistic health, moving away from outdated ‘no pain, no gain’ mindsets to prioritize long-term wellness,” she says.”With technology evolving, people are realizing the importance of rest and how it impacts our body and the work we do in our workouts.”

3. Wellness wearables are this year’s hottest accessory

As far as wellness gadgets you’ll see everywhere this year, certified nutritionist and Alo Moves trainer Laura Quinn says her number one is the Oura Ring, which collects deeply personal health metrics and insights via a sleek little wearable on your finger.

“People are starting to understand that fitness isn’t just about workouts,” she admits. “True wellness goes beyond the gym, and I believe more people are recognizing the connection between nutrition, sleep, recovery and overall health.

The Oura Ring can track how well you slept the night before; if your stress levels are too high and if you’re getting enough steps in so you can monitor your movement (and mood) to make adjustments in real-time.

4. Less is more when it comes to, well, everything

We’re all for Dancing with the Stars pro Lindsay Arnold‘s wellness motto for 2025: Less is more. From simplifying her skincare regimen to being less restrictive around food groups while still getting ample protein, Arnold is embracing a less intense new year and we can most certainly get on board with that.

“We’ll also see this in our movement,” she says, “recognizing the benefits of shorter duration but more focused workouts to see optimal results.” To get inspired by a selection of Arnold-approved workouts and recipes you can do (and make) in less than 20 minutes, head to her platform, The Movement Club.

5. Virtual workouts are more in-demand than ever.

Virtual workouts aren’t new by any means—thanks to the COVID quarantine when they exploded—but Shakira and Kelly Ripa’s trainer Anna Kaiser thinks they’ll be even bigger in 2025 as more fitness experts break away from big box gyms to forge their own paths.

“Top-tier trainers are launching subscription-based platforms, social media workout series and independent apps, giving fitness enthusiasts instant access to high-quality workouts wherever they are,” she explains. The best part? Other than the fact you don’t need a pricey gym membership to access elite-level expertise; your favorite trainers are just a click away.

6. Menopause retreats are the next big thing in wellness

Another revolution Kaiser is a big fan of is the conversation around health and fitness expanding to shine a long-overdue spotlight on menopause. “Once an overlooked phase of life, menopause is now at the forefront of wellness, with women demanding solutions that address their evolving needs,” she says.

Whether you’re looking for nutrition strategies, fitness coaching or hormone therapy solutions to support you through the perimenopause to postmenopause stages, Kaiser says celebrity trainers and health experts are steering the ship and creating menopause-focused fitness plans and retreats that emphasize strength training to counteract bone density loss, cardio to boost heart health and recovery practices to manage inflammation and stress.
