The TTC is currently hiring for a wide range of roles across Toronto — and some of them come with seriously impressive paycheques.

This comes just after the buzz around the CNE’s summer job openings, where a jaw-dropping 54,000 people applied for just 5,000 seasonal jobs.

If you missed out on that rush, don’t worry — the TTC has a bunch of opportunities available right now. From safety and environment to employee services and infrastructure, the transit agency is looking to fill positions across multiple departments.

And the best part? Some of these high-paying jobs offer up to $86 an hour or $168,000 a year!

Here are seven TTC jobs you can apply for right now.

Assistant Foreperson, Subway Track (Pool)

Salary: $88,296.00 – $110,385.60

Company: TTC

Who Should Apply: You should apply for this role if you can identify and mitigate health and safety risks.

You will be expected to:

  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of relevant laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively in many different ways.
  • Be able to train your colleagues.
  • Manage conflict if it arises.
  • Utilize office technology, software, and applications effectively.

To apply, you should have:

  • A Grade 12 in a technical program or have a similar mix of education, training, and experience. No post-secondary degree is required.
  • Familiarity with how track and road inspections, construction, maintenance, and repairs are done.
  • Solid skills in math, reading, writing, and reading blueprints, along with good judgment, organization, and people skills.
  • A valid Ontario Class ‘G’ driver’s licence.

Who Should Apply: If you’ve spent a few years working in HR admin and customer service, this role could be a great fit.

You will be expected to:

  • Help employees with payroll and HR questions, support them with the systems, and encourage them to use self-service options when possible.
  • Determine whether questions need to be passed on or handled personally, and use good judgment to resolve issues and de-escalate tensions when they arise.
  • Utilize every tool you have to give employees the best experience possible.
  • Ensure the TTC meets or exceeds its service goals.

  • A post-secondary education in a related field, or equivalent education, training, and experience.

You will be expected to:

  • Collaborate with renewable energy staff and TTC experts to investigate any failures.
  • Review technical reports, designs, drawings, and test results.
  • Assess technical risks and critically review proposed responses to ensure effective mitigation.
  • Collaborate with TTC teams and external vendors to ensure projects run smoothly.
