Toronto is celebrating 191 years in a big way! Celebrate Toronto, the city’s massive party at Nathan Phillips Square, is on for April 5, 2025, and the festivities will include a fireworks show, over 150 local vendors, live music and skating.

According to Celebrate Toronto, the event “pays homage to Toronto’s past, celebrates its present, and paves the way for an even brighter future.” Oh, and it’s free to attend.

Here’s what to know before you go.

The festival/party will run from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. on April 5, and all you need to do is show up.

Start the afternoon at the ‘Toronto Made Market’, a “bustling marketplace showcasing 150+ local vendors, where you can explore and purchase a wide array of unique, locally crafted goods.”

Food stalls will also surround Nathan Phillips Square, featuring cuisine from around the world. If you want to get in one last skate of the season, Nathan Phillips Square’s iconic outdoor skating rink will be open all afternoon and evening, too! Skate rentals are available.

Craving a beverage? You can raise one up to 191 years in the 19+ licensed bar area. There will be a selection of local craft beers and spirits by Lost Craft, Local Spirits Distilling Co, Dejado Tequila, Coco Rum and Coco Vodka.

Be sure to stay until 9 p.m., when a firework show will light up the sky! There will be no bad spot in the house to watch the fireworks, so just make sure you’re stationed at 9.

Live performances throughout the festival will be put on by Mike Don’t, MC Flipside and Shout!.

Happy 191 years, Toronto, and see you all at the celebration!
