In your wellness era? If you’ve been upping your health game lately, then you’ve probably been to one of the thermal spas in Ontario, but there’s a unique experience you may not have tried out yet. The Healing Salt Cave, located in the Niagara Falls area, is a one-of-a-kind facility that uses various salt therapies and treatments.

Intrigued? The spot is just under two hours from Toronto and totally worth the trip.

According to Healing Salt Cave, “The therapeutic usage of salt caves began at the Wieliczka Salt Mine in Poland in 1843 and has been successfully used for over 175 years. Today, it is known as halotherapy: the inhalation of micro-sized salt particles; and Speleotherapy: the exposure to a subterranean atmosphere.”

The benefits of halotherapy? Improved respiratory function, immune support, better sleep, reduces cold symptoms, stress reduction, reduces skin issues, and helps with allergies.

The salt cave experience lasts 45 minutes. The room has recliner chairs you can lounge on as you listen to meditation music and relax.

The room is kept at a cool temperature, so if you get cold easily, be sure to dress accordingly (fuzzy blankets are provided, too). No food, drinks, or cell phone use allowed inside the cave experience, so you can fully immerse yourself in the experience.

The cave isn’t the only salty feature. The facility also includes a pink salt mineral bath treatment, pink salt flotation, a steam room, saunas, hand and foot detox and an ice bath.

So, whether you’re looking to shake up date night, want a solo day or relaxation or are planning an upcoming girls’ day, this wellness spot needs to be added to your list!
