It’s almost fall, officially, which means spooky season is upon us. Not only that, but an iconic ghost train is returning. That’s right, the Stanley Park Ghost Train in Vancouver is getting ready to take you on a new Halloween journey next month!

When does the Stanley Park Ghost Train return?

According to the City of Vancouver, the popular seasonal ride starts up on October 10th and will run until Halloween on October 31.

It will operate daily from 6 pm to 10 pm, and there will be matinee time slots as well on weekends.

Those will be on Saturdays and Sundays from 2 pm to 5 pm, except on Thanksgiving Day.

What to expect this year

You, your pals, and family can hop on board “for Ghosts in the Graveyard, a rollicking ride filled with creepy and entertaining surprises and spectacularly spooky sights.”

The City adds that riders “will travel through the eerie woods of Stanley Park, transformed into a haunted cemetery, where they will encounter imaginative characters and captivating theatrical performances by the Mortal Coil Performance Society.”

Besides the ride, there will be some fun/ghoulish décor, family-friendly autumn photo spots, and food trucks in the railway plaza.

The matinee option is best for younger riders as it will offer a “fright-free experience without the theatrical performances.”

“It’s so great to see the return of the Ghost Train to Stanley Park,” said Brennan Bastyovanszky, Chair of the Vancouver Park Board.

“Riding the Ghost Train is a time-honoured tradition for many families in Vancouver, and we are thrilled to have it back on track and able to once again offer this experience to residents and visitors alike.”
