Alberta is known around the world for some truly spectacular landscapes, and two places in the province were just named the most beautiful in Canada.
New York-based travel magazine Travel + Leisure released its roundup of the 25 most beautiful places in Canada, and naturally, Alberta found itself on the list not once, but twice.
Banff National Park
Coming in at #17 on the list, the publication said visitors to Banff National Park are “bound to be dazzled by the destination’s mountains, cascading waterfalls, lush pine forests, and turquoise lakes, including the iconic Lake Louise.”
Love was also shown for the natural hot springs and the massive number of outdoor activities within the park.
Jasper National Park
Jasper National Park landed at #25 thanks to its “scenic lakes, canyons, and waterfalls,” and the vast amount of wildlife that calls the park home.
The iconic Icefields Parkway was also mentioned by the publication, which wows motorists every year. Be sure to stop and give yourself plenty of time to check out the massive Columbia Icefields while taking the drive!
While we are on the topic of being touted as some of the best, Alberta is no stranger to the spotlight. Just last month, two picturesque spots in the province were named the most beautiful in the world.
A small town in Alberta was also named one of the best places to visit in Canada by travel guide book publisher Lonely Planet last month, too.
