These Are Officially The World’s Most Sustainable Universities, Canada Reviews

Sure, picking a campus where you can go on pretty walks to have a break from your laptop is all well and good, but what about studying somewhere that’s actively taking steps to leave less of a mark on the planet?

QS World University Rankings has analysed a whopping 1,800 universities from all over the world on factors such as environmental education (including its academic reputation in earth and environment studies, as well as its climate and sustainability courses) and research (does it have a research centre with a sustainability focus?), plus a whole lot more.

Claiming the top spot as the world’s most sustainable institution is the University of Toronto! It scores 91 on sustainability, 98.5 in research and a ridiculously high 99.7 in education – you can look at the stats in more detail here. 

In second places was ETH Zurich, which scored a perfect 100 in sustainability, and in joint third place was Lund University and University of California (Berkeley) which scored 98.8 respectively. Read on for the full ranking.
