The air is crispy and so are the leaves that cover the ground. Fall is nearly here and Alberta has come to life, but what if you want to enjoy an extended staycation in an Alberta provincial park?

If you’re visiting Wild Rose County, there are several spectacular places to frolic through the foliage, wind down, or roast a s’more but spending the night in a tent is not ideal when temperatures drop.

Luckily, for those who need to get away (and want to remain cozy), there are a ton of cabins and yurts for rent courtesy of the government!

Here are just a few that may have availability until late autumn.

Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park

Sir Winston Churchill is a dreamy island getaway that offers beautiful views. Located 5 km east of Lac La Biche, guests are encouraged to go hiking, birdwatching or just relax in one of several 8-person rental cabins with friends, family or their special someone.

Cabins 6 to 15 are available between January 1st and December 31st every year and start at just $175 a night.

Here, you can stay in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin with a fully equipped kitchen, and WIFI.

In addition to a cozy fireplace in the living room, it also has propane heating.

With room for 10 people, this staycation destination can be rented until December 31st for $250 a night.

Cypress Hills Provincial Park

Don’t mind smaller spaces? While they’re only able to host 3 people at a time, the Huts in Cypress Hills Provincial Park are surrounded by towering trees, wildlife and (on a good day) blue sky.

You’ll have to bring your own water and firewood, but you’re in for a sweet treat!

For only $100 a night, you can enjoy the great outdoors and what’s left of the warmer months—or camping in the wintertime. They’re available year-round!
