Romance is in the air — at least it is in these Canadian cities. A new ranking has revealed the most romantic destinations in the world for couples, and two Canadian spots made the list.
U.K.-based brand Pour Moi is behind the latest ranking. It has listed the best cities on a global scale that are perfect for couples to keep the romance alive.
From sunny destinations to cities with the best dining options, the options are almost endless.
Romantic findings
To conduct the list, researchers created an indexed report with three factors. These included the number of times reviewers described the locations as “romantic” on Tripadvisor, the total number of “couple-friendly” things to do according to Tripadvisor, and the number of #datenight+cityname.
“As most of us approach the summer season and start to think of taking a vacation, we were curious where in the world is an ideal spot for couples,” says Marina Nicoli, marketing manager at Pour Moi.
“With social media making everyone want to visit the trending destinations they see on their screens, we wanted to create a must-visit bucket list for couples to enjoy together.”
According to the researchers, the data was then used to give a Romantic Score out of 100. Over 550 cities around the globe were analyzed.
Top choices for romantic cities
Well, per its findings, it turns out that London is the most romantic city in the world, earning a score of 79.11. New York falls in second with 66.65, and Miami in third with 54.64.
If you have ever travelled to these cities, you may agree. A European escape, a city with some of the best Michelin restaurants, and a beachy destination where the heat doesn’t play around. The list is off to a great start.
Thankfully, it’s not long until we see a Canadian city make the cut. Toronto scored fourth place with 54.17 and Calgary placed 19th with a score of 25.96
Though if you’re looking to escape Canada for a bit, other cities include Rome, Italy; Brisbane, Australia; Barcelona, Spain; and Lisbon, Portugal.
The world is your oyster! Now book that trip with your boo and make the most of it. Travelling is always better in twos.
