Whether you’re studying for an exam or just want a space with a little background noise to get some work done, you can’t do much better than one of these cozy Vancouver cafes. So pull up a chair and don’t forget your chargers! Here are 10 of the best cafes to work from in Vancouver.

Finch’s Market

Known for its incredible baguette sandwiches, Finch’s is a prime study/work spot with a ton of charm. Whether you’re grabbing a classic egg salad or their famous prosciutto and pear sandwich, you’ll always leave Finch’s satisfied, and their cozy tables are perfect for settling in and getting work done.

Where: 501 East Georgia Street

Breka Bakery and Cafe

Every student and night owl’s dream. Breka has locations all around the city, but we’re partial to the ones on West 4th and downtown. If you need to cram for a big test, or just feel most productive at 2 am, then this 24-hour spot is the place to be.

Where: 855 Davie Street and 3750 West 4th Avenue

East Cafe

This pick might just be Vancouver’s only cafe with a rooftop patio! Situated in Hastings-Sunrise, East Cafe is a vibrant spot with plenty of seating options – both indoor and out.

Where: 2401 East Hastings Street

Caffe Cittadella

This multi-level bistro is situated in a late 19th-century heritage house, complete with character archways, large windows, and an outdoor patio with gorgeous views of False Creek. Perfect for a quiet afternoon of laptop work and coffee, or catching up with friends over their daily happy hour menu.

Where: 2310 Ash Street

Forecast

Whether it’s a latte, a local brew, or one of their fantastic espresso martinis that wakes you up for your work, you’re sure to find a pick-me-up at Forecast on Main, which has a large, airy space with tons of seating.

Where: 2980 Main Street

Revolver

Situated right across from Purebread in Gastown is one of the best spots for espresso drinks we’ve come across in the city. From the tasting flights to the funky decor, you really can’t go wrong with a visit to Revolver. And it doubles as a great spot to bring your book of choice or laptop if you need a solid hour or two of focused work.

Where: 325 Cambie Street

Nemesis

Nemesis exploded into the Vancouver scene a few years back and boasts some of the more interesting coffee shops in the city. The original location downtown is great, and their North Van spot is right beside an art gallery (nice). But, our top pick is their latest location, which is easily the most interesting coffee shop in the city.

Where: 555 Great Northern Way

Small Victory

It might be called Small Victory, but this bright and airy spot is a big win for our coffee scene and an even bigger win for getting work done. It’s a great spot if you want to overhear some fun business meetings or something in between your working stints.

Where: 1088 Homer Street and 3070 Granville Street

49th Parallel Café

The Kits location is probably the most famous coffee shop in the city, but 49th Parallel has three locations worth checking out. Good colour scheme, great coffee, and delicious donuts. However, it’s the Main Street spot that we think has the best potential for getting work done – plus, it has a cozy fireplace!

Where: 2198 West 4th Avenue and 2902 Main Street

Great Dane Coffee

Last but certainly not least, we come to Great Dane Coffee at UBC. It’s worth venturing on campus for the fall foliage alone, but Great Dane is a great spot to curl up by the fireplace with your work and hammer out some productive hours.

Where: 6011 Walter Gage Road

And that’s a wrap on some of the best cafes for getting work done, Vancouver.
