We’ve recently had some insight into the destinations that are trending for the year ahead, but what about the places we were flocking to in 2024?

The year’s nearly over, and we definitely noticed underrated destinations having their moment in the spotlight (Marseille, we’re looking at you), but out of the world’s sparkling metropolises, some classics have topped the list. 

eDreams ODIGEO has released a report that compiles search and booking data from its European and American customers, and (not so surprisingly) Paris was this year’s most popular city break. 

That’s right, the city of lights, the capital of the world’s most visited country, attracted more interest than any other destination in the world this year (could the Olympics have had something to do with it, perhaps?). Shocker. 

In second place, it was Barcelona (not that they’re happy about it) and in third place, it was Palma de Mallorca, but Madrid and Malaga also both made the top 10. No wonder Spain is soon to be the world’s most visited country.
