There’s a chill in the air, but plenty of adventures to be had! If you’re among those in search of your next autumnal excursion, consider the Living Waters Boardwalk in Elk Island National Park in Alberta—a charming stroll with beautiful vistas.
What to expect
Located just northeast of Edmonton, this magical trail loops out onto Astotin Lake and then makes its way onto a lakeside marsh, with much to see along the way.
According to Travel Alberta, this route is short and ideal for families with small children—but it’s got mighty fine surroundings!
While on the 400-metre loop expect to see everything from beavers and fish to frogs and birds of every size, shape, and colour.
In addition, you can enjoy the view of the nearby islands, populated by more majestic wildlife.
It should only take about half an hour to complete, but take your time!
Wear comfortable shoes, breathe in the fresh air, and take photos!
There’s no shortage of incredible angles.
