Cobourg, Ont., is lined along the shores of Lake Ontario, just over an hour outside of Toronto. The lakeside town is stunning any time of year, but don’t take my word for it, you can see for yourself if you have a Netflix account.

Cobourg’s charm and beauty have earned it a spot as the backdrop for a handful of shows and movies on Netflix, some of which you may have watched already!

Netflix shows and movies filmed in Cobourg, Ont.

According to Cobourg’s tourism page, a few of the Netflix projects that have been filmed in town include Ginny & Georgia, Pixels, and Remember Me.

Ginny & Georgia filmed episodes for the popular show last summer in August 2024. The series is described as a “mother-daughter coming-of-age series where Ginny Miller often feels more mature than her free-spirited mother, Georgia Miller.” The filming locations you can look for when you watch are:

  • Victoria Hall – 55 King St. West (exterior)
  • The El – 74 King St. West
  • The sidewalk on King Street West between Hibernia Street and 3rd Street
  • Victoria Park

Pixels wasn’t shot quite as recently, released in 2015, but featured some big Hollywood names, including Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Peter Dinklage and Ashley Benson.

Remember Me is also one of the older projects shot in Cobourg, Ont., but it starred another massive actor, Robert Pattison. Remember Me came out in 2010, the same year as one of Pattison’s Twilight movies, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

As for the non-Netflix affiliated filming projects, Cobourg lists Murdoch Mysteries, a Canadian classic series and a music video from the band Walk Off the Earth as notable pieces.
