Spring has sprung and that means Toronto will soon be filled with gorgeous cherry blossom blooms! While High Park is a popular place to see cherry blossoms, there are plenty of other spots you may not know about.

According to the City of Toronto, “Take part in the centuries-old tradition of hanami, the Japanese term for flower viewing. Called sakura in Japan, these cherry blossom trees bloom at the end of April to early May.”

Grab a loved one, or venture off on a solo day-date and check out one of these cherry blossom hubs.

The map includes the following places:

  • Birkdale Ravine
  • Broadacres Park
  • Cedar Ridge Park
  • Cedarvale Park
  • Centennial Park
  • Cherry Street and Villiers Street
  • Edwards Gardens
  • Exhibition Place
  • High Park
  • Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre
  • John P. Robarts Research Library
  • Trinity Bellwoods Park
  • University of Toronto Scarborough Campus
  • Woodbine Park
  • York University

If you want to stay in the know about when the flowers will bloom, be sure to check out Sakura Steve’s blog, the resident cherry blossom expert in the area.

As it stands, Steve’s predicting that the blooms will arrive around the typical time they usually do – late April/early May.

THe cherry blossoms await, Toronto!
