Finding a meal in Toronto for five bucks is becoming something of a rarity, but, thankfully, a new Italian takeout spot is serving up a comforting bowl of pasta for exactly that.

Via Gnocchi opened near Bloor and Bathurst earlier this month, dishing out “Italian Soul in a Takeout Bowl” from a tiny walk-up window (so don’t expect a sprawling Italian dining room!)

The base order keeps things pretty simple with pillowy gnocchi covered in marinara sauce for only $5, but you can dress it up with Parmigiano for an extra $1 or add Calabrian chili spice for another 50 cents!

If you’re hungry enough for a full Italian feast, there’s the $10 “Mamma Mia!” combo, which comes with gnocchi and all the toppings, a pop and a mini tiramisu. You can also order the tiramisu separately for $3.50 or grab an Italian soda for $3.50.

But maybe the biggest draw, besides the unusually low price, is how late you can get your gnocchi fix. Via Gnocchi stays open until 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, making it a perfect option for late-nighters looking to snack on something other than a pizza slice.

Via Gnocchi is now open at 758 Bathurst St., just south of Bloor Street, and is open from 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

And if you’re looking for more late-night eats, acclaimed chef Susur Lee is partnering with Asahi Super Dry to reimagine one of Japan’s most beloved comfort foods: a limited-edition Super Dry Ramen crafted specifically to complement the profile of Japan’s signature beer!
