This panoramic fall drive takes you to Ontario’s largest pedestrian village

Pack your car and get ready for a little fall road trip! The Blue Mountains and Scenic Caves fall driving route is the perfect way to spend an autumn day and includes stops complete with zip lining and hiking options as well as a stop in the largest pedestrian village in Ontario.

Let’s go for a drive!

The route starts at the iconic Blue Mountain Resort in The Blue Mountains, Ontario. If you want to add adventure to this fall driving route then there are a few attractions here to take advantage of.

Blue Mountain Resort has seasonal options such as gondola rides up the mountain for a view of Georgian Bay and the fall colours, the cross-country trails and the Mountaintop Segway Tour.

From there, it’s time to hit the road again and the route takes you up one of the “region’s most scenic roads”. You’ll want to stop at Scenic Caves Nature Adventures and tour the caves and trails, walk the Suspension Bridge for a view of the fall colours or ride the Thunderbird Twin Zip Line.

Continuing, the driving route will take you past the Bruce Trail Lookout which offers a great view of Georgian Bay, The Georgian Hills Vineyards, Craigleith Provincial Park (stop to see the shale rock beach!) and finally, loops around to end at the Blue Mountain Village aka  Ontario’s largest pedestrian village.

The pedestrian village has cafes, restaurants, and bars, but it can also be enjoyed just by walking around to take in the fall sights.

Distance

While the route itself isn’t too long, you may want to block off a whole day so you can enjoy the experiences along the way.

The fall driving route is 42 km long with a drive time of around 40 minutes (not including the stops).
