You don’t need to go far in order to enjoy white sand shores and clear, blue waters. This beautiful beach destination is a road trip from the city and it’s a little slice of paradise.

The beach is about a 2 hour drive from Toronto and is surrounded by restaurants, local shops, cafes and more to enjoy.

You can spend the day splashing through warm waters, lounging on the sand and enjoying the summer vibes in the area.

You’ll have to plan ahead as a day pass is required to visit the beach. Here’s what to know if you’re heading to this destination.

Crystal Beach, located in Fort Erie, is a magical spot to visit during the summer. Also known as Bay Beach, the sandy oasis is nestled on the shores of Lake Erie and is one of the area’s most popular tourist destinations, according to the website.

The beach recently underwent renovations and offers a washroom facility complete with lockers, change rooms and a water bottle filling station as well as a pavilion, accessible ramp to the beach, viewing deck over the shoreline and more.

Aside from swimming, you can explore some of the restaurants around Crystal Beach, cool off with an ice cream cone or stroll through Crystal Beach Waterfront Park.

The beach is open to the public but there is a capacity limit. Visitors must purchase a day pass at the Bay Beach main entrance or online. Passes cost $5 for bookings Monday through Thursday and $10 per person on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.
