Thompson shines as Jays down BoSox 2-0

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Zach Thompson pitched three perfect innings to take the win as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Boston Red Sox 2-0 in Friday’s spring training baseball action.
Thompson had two strikeouts and allowed no runners in three innings of work.

Relievers Thomas Hatch, Sem Robbers, and Jimmy Robbins combined to give up five hits in six innings, with Robbins picking up the save.
Wynton Barnard scored the victory with a sacrifice fly in the third inning. Rainer Nunez added to the lead with an RBI double in the fourth inning.
Corey Kluber surrendered Nunez’s double in the fourth inning, losing to Boston. He gave up 5 hits and 2 runs in 3 innings.
The loss was Boston’s first of the spring (9-1).
Toronto (8-6) will face Baltimore on Saturday.
