NBC News anchor Vicky Nguyen is mentally still on holiday break—and Today viewers couldn’t relate more.
The TV personality made an accidental fashion faux pas during the Today show’s Thursday, Dec. 26 broadcast, where she showed up still wearing her slippers following her Christmas Day festivities.

As seen in the hilarious clips shared to the show’s Instagram page, Nguyen dressed in her usual professional garb. She sported a deep purple suit set, but it was her footwear that didn’t exactly match the vibe.
Instead of dressy shoes, Nguyen wore a pair of neon UGG slippers after apparently forgetting to change her shoes before she left her house.
“When it’s the day after Christmas and you accidentally wear your slippers to work,” read the caption on the Instagram post, which also included a video of Today‘s Peter Alexander calling out Nguyen for the footwear mishap.
“Would you kick up your heels?” Alexander said during the broadcast, directing the viewers’ attention to his colleague’s funky-colored shoes.
“That was a good look,” he further teased Nguyen.
“Look, this is a day after Christmas,” Nguyen said to clear the air. “It was kind of like a mom brain moments when I thought I had the shoes but didn’t have the shoes.”
“We’ve all been there, @vickynguyentv! 😂,” the caption on the Instagram post read, while fans took to the comments to commend the relatable moment from Nguyen. ‘
“See we’re not alone! Lol” one Instagram user wrote under a clip from Thursday’s episode, while someone else commented, “Omg I love this. We are all human.”
Someone else called Nguyen “the realest” for the relatable situation.
“Well at least, she’s comfortable,” another added.
