The Easter Bunny might just have to trade in chocolate for cold, hard cash this year, as one Toronto chocolate shop is combining the two vices in one, shoving $1000 cash into a chocolate Easter egg somewhere in the city for anyone to find.

Just when you thought springtime in Toronto couldn’t get any sweeter, the good people over at The Grand Order of Divine Sweets (The GOoDS) are making sure that someone in the city has an extra special Saturday this April.

Back for their fourth annual Grant Hunt event, the West Queen West chocolate shop and bakery is placing a number of treasure chests containing scrolls that correspond with various prizes around the entire city, alongside the grand prizes: chocolate Easter eggs filled with cash.

For the past four years, the chocolate shop has placed a single egg containing $1000 somewhere in the city for an eagle-eyed participant to find, but this year they’re upping the ante even further by including a second egg filled with $500 in one of the chests.

While the actual hunt kicks off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, The GOoDS will be posting a variety of hints about the locations of chests and eggs on their Instagram story leading up to and during the day, so keep an eye on that.

Let’s face it: all of us could use a little (or a lot) extra cash these days, but even if you don’t happen to find the money egg, you still run the chances of going home with some great prizes including treats from The GOoDS and donations from partners like the ROM, Penguin Publishing Canada, Storm Crow Manner and the soon-to-open Grizzly Bar.

Upon locating a treasure chest, players will bring their contents back to The GOoDS in order to retrieve their prize.

If you don’t have the time to play all day, you can also swing by the shop on April 12 and try your hand at yet another prize draw, where you could walk away with any number of prizes, or simply pick up some handcrafted Easter treats from The GOoDS.

Happy — or should I say hoppy? — hunting!

The GOoDS is located at 1162 Queen West.
