Get your best cosplay ready, Toronto, because Comicon 2025 is right around the corner.
Toronto’s ultimate celebration of fan culture, from TV to comics and everything in between, returns for another epic year on March 14, bringing some exciting stars, original art and exciting events together all under one roof.
Organized by Fan Expo, the largest comic con producer in the entire world, Toronto’s event is just one in a series of conventions that take place across North America. I may be biased, but I’d say Toronto’s is the best.
The festival takes place from March 14 to 16 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, bringing fans, cosplayers and personalities to the heart of the city to celebrate everything delightfully nerdy.
Here’s what you can expect to see and do at Toronto Comicon 2025.
Events
The convention is comprised of almost too many different events to list, from panels and meet-and-greets to meet-ups and competitions, but a few stand out as can’t-miss opportunities.
It goes without saying that cosplay, and the opportunity for devoted cosplay artists from across the city and beyond to show off their creations, is a major draw for the festival every year — and this year will be no different.
Each day of the festival, the Cosplay Red Carpet is the perfect opportunity to feast your eyes on some realistic renditions of characters and figures from across pop culture and history, but there are also devoted cosplay meet-ups where fans can connect over their shared love of various fanchises.
On day 1, things start off strong with a Harry Potter meet-up, followed by a Sorting Hat ceremony, of course, which is joined by Disney, Chainsaw Man, MCU, DC and villain cosplay gatherings later in the day.
On Saturday, there’s another Sorting Hat ceremony (I mean, come on, we can’t have you walking around thinking you’re a Gryffindor when you’re obviously a Hufflepuff,) on top of Star Wars, Undertale/Deltarune, Arcane/LOL and Dandadan cosplay meet-ups.
March 15 will also play host to a special cosplay red carpet in honour of Warcraft‘s 30th anniversary, so have your best Thrall, Anduin Wrynn and Gul’dan costumes at the ready.
Following that up, you can also catch a thrilling Sailor Moon-themed lip sync extravaganza, where competitors will go head-to-head RuPaul’s Drag Race style in an attempt to earn the crown.
Starting day 3 out strong, the Kid’s Cosplay Red Carpet takes place at 11, followed by One Piece, Ouran High School Host Club, Genshin, Hazbin Hotel and historical cosplay meet-ups. Maybe I’ll finally put that Alexander Hamilton costume to good use.
Every day of the convention, you’ll also have the chance to make friendship bracelets, attend workshops on everything from sustainable cosplay to comic drawing and get your game on with retro board game free play.
Here’s a hot scoop: there’s also an unofficial Comicon after party happening at Supermarket at 10 p.m. on Friday, March 15, with live performances, cosplay and dancing to boot.
Celebrities
Another major draw of the convention is the potential to meet some of your favourite actors, vocal artists, cartoonists and writers at meet-and-greets, panels and appearances.
This year, you’ll be able to suit up with the Supes, as The Boys stars Karl Urban, Anthony Starr, Colby Minifie, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonzo, Nathan Mitchell, Tomer Capone and Valorie Curry are all set to make appearances at the convention.
Things get a little spooky with Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki (who I personally remember more warmly as Dean on Gilmore Girls), Mark Sheppard, Alexander Calvert, Jim Beaver and Ruth Connell all gear up for their appearances, alongside Buffy the Vampire Slayer‘s James Marsters, and Manny Jacinto, of The Acolyte and The Good Place fame.
A host of comic creators will also be making appearances this year, including (but far from limited to) “Daredevil” cover artist Alex Maleev, “Star Wars” illustrator Dave Dorman, and legendary Marvel editor, Jim Salicrup.
Tickets and Hours
Tickets to the convention are available online, and range in price depending on the date of your visit and any add-ons, like photo-ops or signatures.
While three-day passes have long-since sold out, you can still purchase tickets for March 15 at $29, March 16 at $39 or March 17 at $34. Or buy tickets for all three days, why not? Child and youth passes are also available at a discounted rate.
The convention opens at 10 a.m. each day, and closes around 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 5 p.m. on Sunday.
