A pair of Toronto Maple Leafs fans found out about Philadelphia’s reputation in the hardest way possible on Tuesday night.

In a video that was circulating on social media via Barstool Philly and originally uloaded by linds_e_willis, two Leafs fans by the glass at Wells Fargo Center got a rude awakening from the fists of what appears to be a Flyers fan cruisin’ for a bruisin’.

The Leafs fans in the video appear to be chirping back and forth with what looks to be a man in a Philadelphia Eagles hat. Though we never see the front of his black T-shirt, it’s safe to assume he probably wasn’t rooting for Toronto that evening.

The aggressor in question pops one fan with a hard shot, switches over to bash the other Leafs fan, and then returns to the original fan with another blow before eventually being told off as he stares the pair down. Both Leafs fans didn’t really seem all that interested in engaging further with the man as the video eventually cuts off after an action-packed 15 seconds.

Given the limited number of fans in the seats, it’s likely the incident occurred following the game, with both teams appearing to be heading off to the locker room in the background of the clip.

As is often the case in videos of fights in the crowd, it’s hard to really know what started the altercation in the first place. With the Leafs beating the Flyers twice by identical 3-2 scores in back-to-back games this week, maybe the offending party was simply letting his frustrations out via what appears to be a possible assault charge on the way.

When contacted for comment on the matter, the Wells Fargo Center stated “at the conclusion of last night’s Flyers game, several individuals involved in a physical altercation were escorted out of the arena by the Philadelphia Police.”

“We do not condone or tolerate violence or disrespectful behavior of any kind and will continue to promote a safe and inclusive environment at all games and events.”
