The Toronto Maple Leafs clinched a 2025 postseason berth with a win against the Florida Panthers on Wednesday night, and while it is still yet to be determined who the Buds will face in round one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, ticket resellers are already listing seats for thousands of dollars.
The 2025 playoffs are just weeks away, and as the standings are finalized in the days to come, the Leafs will soon learn who they will face in the first round.
Playoff tickets are not officially on sale as of April 3, but even ahead of ticket sales and confirmation of game details, ticket resellers are already trying to make small fortunes on the speculative demand from fans thinking that this could finally be ‘the year.’
Ticket reseller site StubHub currently has over 100 listings for seats at a yet-to-be-confirmed Home Game 1 at Scotiabank Arena, including a few eyebrow-raising prices.
The cheapest tickets available on StubHub for this first home game against an undetermined team on an undetermined date are going for $353, though prices gradually descend into madness as you scroll deeper through the list of available seats.
Approximately 80 tickets are listed at prices north of $1,000, 14 of which are selling for more than $2,000.
One pair of tickets in section 111 is currently listed for a whopping $7,145 each — which would amount to a night out costing more than fourteen grand.
For the Leafs’ 2024 playoff run, ticket presales were launched during the second week of April with similarly exorbitant prices, met with blowback from fans online.
For what it’s worth, Leafs fans have a few more reasons to be hopeful than in previous years, with core players producing late in the season, strong goaltending, and a growing sense of do-or-die in the locker room after years of disappointing eliminations.
