An Ontario-based grocery chain is gearing up to open a brand-new Toronto location in a burgeoning neighbourhood.

As major grocery chains become increasingly contentious thanks to steep pricing, there’s no time like the present to try out your local independent and, lucky for us all, plenty of them seem to be multiplying as of recent.

After the recent news that T&T Supermarket will soon be opening a new location in the heart of downtown, there’s even more grocery-related good news to get excited about: Marche Leo’s Market will soon be opening a new location at a buzzworthy new development.

Currently boasting four locations in Toronto, the Ontario chain has been slowly but surely on the come up in recent years, and they’re about to expand even further, with a new location at the Aquavista condo development.

The new location, moving into an area that’s otherwise wanting for proximal, accessible grocery options despite its ballooning population, will be located at 80 Merchant’s Wharf.

In addition to quality grocery staples, the chain offers a selection of prepared foods, including smoothie bowls, salads, sandwiches and house-made sushi, as well as alcohol and catering services, making for a welcome addition in the landmark development area.

Though initially slated to open in 2024, the supermarket is still under development and, at the time of publication, the opening date has yet to be confirmed. Here’s hoping, for the sake of Aqua-residents everywhere, it’s soon.

They’re not stopping with their waterfront location, though; there’s also another new Marche Leo’s location planned for Etobicoke in the near future, taking on a space at the Kingsway by the River development at 4208 Dundas West.
