As the longest-serving member on the Raptors’ current roster, Chris Boucher regularly gets recognized on the streets of Toronto.

However, the power forward found himself in the middle of a classic case of mistaken identity when he was pulled over by local police earlier this week.

Taking to Instagram, Boucher shared a short video of himself with red and blue lights flashing in his rearview mirror to explain the situation to his nearly 200,000 followers.

“Haha, damn. I get [pulled over] because a Christopher Boucher is on the loose and [has] a warrant,” he wrote in the caption. “That’s funny.”

“Not me, sir. Carry on,” he added, referencing what he may have told the officer who mistakenly tracked him down.

While we don’t know who the other Boucher in question is or the nature of his crimes, it’s fair to say the cops can cross at least one suspect off their list.

Luckily, the manhunt seemed to end there as Boucher was later spotted at Apt. 200, attending a birthday party for fellow Raptors player Gradey Dick. Fellow pro baller Franklin Porter was also in attendance, posing for a photo with the two Toronto players.

The Saint Lucia native didn’t seem to be too fazed by the incident, later posting a photo of himself smiling at the event.

With the heat off his tail, Boucher will look to help Toronto improve upon its disappointing 3-12 record Thursday night when the Raptors take on the Minnesota Timberwolves at home.
