One young Toronto Raptors fan got a little more than they bargained for when attending Monday night’s game against the Chicago Bulls.

Midway through the second half, a young fan named Miro was seen on the arena scoreboard showing off their dance moves, a rather routine occurrence that typically happens a few times a game.

But for whatever reason, the crowd (and the scoreboard operators) took to the fan a little kinder to most, and a little harsher to just about everyone else.

With the same fan being shown multiple times over the lengthy stoppage, Raptors fans ended up cheering every time they were shown on the screen, and booing literally anyone else who popped up.

Perhaps the crowd got a bit of inspiration from Georgie, a young Detroit Red Wings fan who got a very similar reaction in a viral moment from 2023 at his first-ever NHL game.

Following the sudden popularity surge of their young fan, the Raptors staff didn’t fail to capitalize on the moment. In a later stoppage in play, the fan was actually brought directly onto the court and shown again on the Scotiabank Arena jumbotrons to a massive cheer.

The Raptors mascot later uploaded a behind-the-scenes clip with his new friend Miro.

Unfortunately for the Raptors, the infamous fan might’ve been the best part of the evening. In a story that’s become all too common for them this season, a late fourth-quarter push wasn’t quite enough for Toronto to come back from a lead that grew to as big as 16. After it was all said and done, Toronto fell by one point to Chicago, with the final score reading Bulls 122, Raptors 121.

Toronto has two more home games before Christmas Day, so perhaps they’ll find a way to bring the dancing fan back to Scotiabank Arena. If nothing else, it’s guaranteed to get a cheer out of a crowd that hasn’t had much to celebrate this season.
