Tragically Hip plan children’s book

Toronto –
“Ahead by a Century” is “Ahead by a Century”, “B” is “Bobcaygeon”.
Those are two of the lessons Tragically Hip hopes to impart to its young readers as it prepares for its upcoming alphabet picture book later this year.
The legendary Canadian rock band names ‘The Tragically Hip ABC’, described by its publisher as a ‘love letter to the hip’.
According to Penguin Random House Canada, the book will include the work of four Canadian illustrators who bring the band’s beloved songs and iconography to life.
Hip guitarist Rob Baker noted that the band had signed on to the project in hopes of promoting the literacy and development of children “close to our collective minds.”
“The Tragically Hip ABC”, which will be released on the Tundra imprint, will be available on October 24th.
A preview of the book features various animal caricatures, including a polar bear wearing Gord Downey’s famous “Jaws” T-shirt and purple fedora.
The illustrators who contributed to this project are Clayton Hammer, Julia Breckenried, Bridget George and Monika Melnichuk.
