IMG (International Medical Group) has released its annual Travel Outlook Survey for 2025. The survey, which collected over 1,500 responses from IMG customers, unveils key travel trends and top destinations for 2025.

The survey findings indicate that 96% of respondents plan to travel internationally in 2025. More than half (51%) anticipate undertaking three or more international trips yearly. Meanwhile, 85% have at least one domestic trip planned for 2025, with 52% planning to travel domestically three or more times.

The most popular trip types for 2025 are urban tourism (53% of respondents) and visiting family in another country (51% of respondents). Other popular trip styles include beach vacation (42% of respondents) and rural tourism (40% of respondents).

Travel spending is also on the rise, with 29% of respondents planning to spend more on travel in 2025 than they did in the previous year. Solo travel is another trend emerging in 2025, with 48% of respondents planning solo trips. Business travel is also gaining traction, with 57% of respondents planning business trips in 2025, up 7% from the 2024 survey.

The survey also revealed that the top travel concerns for 2025 are getting sick or having an accident while at the destination, needing to cancel the trip before departure, and issues getting to or from the destination. As reported by respondents, the most popular destinations for 2025 include Canada, Italy, Mexico, Japan, and France.
