Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has signed an agreement for a Tree of Life resort at Chilika Lake, Odisha, in partnership with Sanjay Gadodia. The greenfield project marks the first Tree of Life property in the state.
The planned Tree of Life Chilika Lake, Odisha, will be a 30-key resort located on the banks of Chilika Lake, offering views of the lagoon. Facilities will include an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, a meeting room, a swimming pool, and a spa.
Chilika Lake is the largest brackish-water lagoon in Asia and the second-largest coastal lagoon in the world. It is recognized as a World Heritage site candidate by UNESCO and is home to over 160 bird species, the endangered Irrawaddy dolphin, and a variety of marine and freshwater life.
