Treehouse Hotel announced the opening of its latest property, Treehouse Hotel Manchester, on March 19, 2025. The Manchester location is Treehouse’s second UK hotel and joins the recently opened Treehouse Hotel Silicon Valley in the United States, bringing the total number of Treehouse properties to three.
Situated in the center of Manchester, at the juncture of Blackfriars Street and Deansgate, Treehouse Hotel Manchester combines the comfort and joy of a treehouse with the city’s vibrant energy. Like its London predecessor, which opened to high acclaim in 2019, the Manchester hotel embraces the brand’s signature sense of nostalgia, individuality, and adventure, offering a unique escape within the city.
“Treehouse Hotels encapsulate the playfulness of childhood, a time of boundless imagination and world exploration,” said Barry Sternlicht, Founder and Chairman of Starwood Hotels. “With Treehouse Hotel Manchester, we bring those sentiments to life. It’s a haven of ‘carefreedom,’ where carefree meets freedom and good times happen.”
The hotel’s design invites guests to experience the city from a new perspective. Each room features wall-to-wall windows and lush greenery, creating the impression of a secret hideaway in the treetops. A living green wall façade contrasts against the surrounding concrete buildings, hinting at the oasis within.
Treehouse Hotel Manchester will initially open 200 treehouse-inspired guest rooms, with additional rooms and suites planned for later in the year. Each space is designed with personality, featuring bespoke headboards, patchwork quilts, and exposed waffle concrete ceilings. The hotel also plans to shake up the local dining scene with three destination restaurants and bars.
In addition to providing a unique hospitality experience, Treehouse Hotel Manchester also aims for a positive impact on the local community. It supports local charities such as Mustard Tree and EatWell MCR and partners with local groups for regular park cleanups. Eco-conscious materials are used throughout the property, single-use plastics are avoided, and a minimal-waste model is implemented in the kitchen. The hotel is also on track to achieve BREEAM Very Good and Green Key sustainable operations certifications.
