Get that grocery list ready, because T&T Supermarket, Canada’s premier Asian grocery chain, is about to open up their latest location in downtown Toronto.

While T&T Supermarket avoided Toronto’s downtown core like the plague for many years (the closest you could get was their now-demolished Cherry Street location), the chain seems to have turned over a new leaf when it comes to serving the city’s denseley populated areas.

The Vancouver-based, Loblaw-owned chain made its first foray into the downtown Toronto market with their location at College and Spadina to instant success, and since there’s no sense in quitting while you’re ahead, they’re about to open another one.

The new location is set to take over an enormous 31,000 square-foot commercial space near the intersection of Yonge and Dundas, making it very much a prime location for the thousands of commuters who pass through the area daily, as well as the hordes of TMU students who call that area home.

Opening its doors at 26 Edward Street at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, the new location will carry the standard collection of T&T goodies as well as a street food section offering a selection of quick and easy comfort foods from an array of Asian cuisines.

In honour of the grand opening, T&T is also offering a number of special offers and rewards.

On opening day, the first 100 people to visit the store (or, if history serves, to line up before the store opens) will receive a $10 gift card, and any purchase over $68 before tax will get a free reusable tote bag.

From Feb. 13 until Feb. 16, any purchase of $88 or more will also receive a $10 coupon.

If you’re hoping to avoid long lines, I’d recomment waiting it out for a few days past opening to check the new store out, since T&T’s enthusiastic fan base has been well-known to show up in droves for new location openings.

T&T Supermarket currently operates 38 locations across Canada and the U.S.
