Twisters star Anthony Ramos opened up about his thoughts regarding Taylor Swift’s impact on football during a recent NFL game watch party.

The event, which was hosted by The Athletic, saw the New England Patriots take on the New York Jets on Thursday, Sept. 19. Though the Kansas City Chiefs weren’t part of Thursday’s festivities, Swift’s relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce still came up in conversation with some of the celebrities who attended.

Ramos, 32, identified himself as a Jets fan but still had kind words for the pop superstar, who has inspired many new viewers to tune in for NFL games.

The “Cruel Summer” songstress has “been amazing for football,” the In the Heights actor told People. He also noted that many people now watch Chiefs games “just to see that cut to Taylor” during live broadcasts.

Swift, 34, began attending NFL games last fall as her relationship with Kelce, also 34, first took off. She cheered him on at several games during the 2023-24 season, including Super Bowl LVIII, and has so far, attended both games the Chiefs have played during the 2024-25 season.

Though the 14-time Grammy Award winner has faced some backlash from diehard football fans who get annoyed with the attention she receives whenever she does show up at a game, people throughout the NFL community have also applauded the way she has inspired Swifties to embrace the sport, some for the first time.

With the Swift-Kelce romance still seemingly going strong, many fans expect they’ll see the “Fortnight” singer at several more games in the months ahead, though she will resume her popular Eras Tour in mid-October.

Following a successful run overseas, Swift’s tour is scheduled to return to the U.S. for nine dates before she takes it for a brief spin through parts of Canada. The Eras Tour, which first began in March 2023, is slated to celebrate its final show in early December.
