Thomas Rhettand Niall Horanwere forced to make a difficult decision just hours before taking the stage in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
The longtime friends, who were scheduled to co-headline Hersheypark Stadium on Saturday, July 18, shared a joint Instagram video announcing that the show would no longer go ahead as planned after spending the morning consulting with their teams.
“We’ve been kind of sat with our teams and the promoters and the meteorologists all morning since like 9 a.m. and it, it feels like there’s a lot of severe weather in the area and some bad weather conditions and thunderstorms threatening the show,” Horan explained. “So we are have been kind of forced into a corner and we will have to reschedule the show tomorrow night, obviously.”
While acknowledging the disappointing news, the pair confirmed they were staying in town so fans would still get a performance. “Something that we didn’t want to do, but we do want to stay in town and do the show for you guys, so if you have a ticket, you can come tomorrow,” Horan said.
Rhett stressed that the decision ultimately came down to keeping concertgoers safe. “We love y’all and y’all’s safety is first and foremost our, our biggest concern,” he said. “And we wanna give y’all, the show that we have prepared, and we just couldn’t guarantee that for tonight.”

The country star also pointed out how fortunate they were that both the venue and their schedules aligned for a quick turnaround. “So it’s a miracle that the venue is available tomorrow, that me and Niall are both here tomorrow, and so we’ll see you guys tomorrow night ready to freaking rock.”
Fans, for the most part, were understanding in the comments.
“Is what it is…can’t wait to see y’all tomorrow!! don’t beat yourself up about it, can’t control the weather,” one fan wrote.
Another said, “Totally understand!!! My heart goes out to all of the fans who traveled near and far to see .”
“Safety comes first 🤎 make it up to us by singing some extra one direction songs tomorrow 😂,” a third quipped.
But others weren’t pleased with the solution.
“This should be moved up to an earlier time to accommodate everyone who is here today,” one suggested.
A second said, “Logistical nightmare, can you make the show at noon lol?”
So if Sunday’s show wont work for you, Horan stated that “you’ll get a full refund for your for your ticket.”
