I, for one, am of the belief that you can never have too much pizza, and that’s why the plans of an Ontario chain gearing up to open a new location in Toronto is truly exciting.
Already boasting twelve locations across Canada, including two in Toronto, it’s safe to say that U.K.-based pizza chain, Mr. Singh’s Pizza, is on a roll.
In fact, since launching their Canadian expansion with a location in Brampton back in the summer of 2023, the chain’s North American fleet has already managed to dwarf that of the U.K., where Mr. Singh’s operates 5 locations.
Perhaps their popularity can be attributed to the chain’s particularly unique business angle; they offer a selection of entirely vegetarian pizzas made with Indian flavours, on top of a range of more than 50 different vegetable toppings and plant-based cheeses, ensuring no one (even the vegans) has to settle on pizza night.
The hype around Mr. Singh’s Pizza in Ontario could be equally, if not more so, attributed to a particularly memorable endorsement it got this past summer from none other than Doug Ford.
Attending the grand opening of the chain’s eighth Ontario location — this one in Scarborough — the premiere proudly proclaimed that Mr. Singh’s pizza is “the best pizza anywhere in Canada,” asserting that you “have to try” it in a video posted by the business.
Now, the chain is gearing up to expand its fleet once again with the news recently surfacing that a brand-new location will soon be opening in Etobicoke.
The pizza shop is taking over for mom-and-pop shop, Calabrese Pizza, at 3019 Lake Shore West, which closed down in late 2024, and, while there’s no news on when, exactly, it’ll be opening, signage posted in the window promises it’s “opening soon.”
In the meantime, if you’re intrigued by the concept of completely vegetarian pizza, or want to see whether Doug Ford was on to something claiming the best pies in the country, you can visit Mr. Singh’s Rexdale location at 982 Albion Road or their Scarborough location at 1780 Markham Road.
blogTO contacted Mr. Singh Pizza for additional details on the new location, but, at the time of publication, has yet to receive a response.
