The University of Toronto is on top. U.S. News just released its ranking of global universities, including the best in Canada. Out of 43 institutions, the University of Toronto took the top spot in the country, along with a couple of other honours.
According to U.S. News, “These universities in Canada have been numerically ranked based on their positions in the overall Best Global Universities rankings. Schools were evaluated based on their research performance and their ratings by members of the academic community around the world and within North America.”
Not only did U of T earn the number one spot in the country, but it also came in at 16th in the world.
The other universities that followed U of T in the top 10 in Canada include:
- University of Toronto
- University of British Columbia
- McGill University
- McMaster University
- University of Alberta
- Universite de Montreal
- University of Waterloo
- University of Calgary
- University of Ottawa
- Western University
U of T’s breakdown also shows the best subjects (ranked globally as well), with Endocrinology and Metabolism coming in third in the world, Surgery in fourth, Social Sciences and Public Health in fifth, Clinical Medicine in fifth, Arts and Humanities in fifth, and Cardiac and Cardiovascular Systems in sixth.
