To show that there are good deals to be had, we checked prices on January 12th for stays for two people on the Friday and Saturday of February 14th and 16th. That’s the weekend of Valentine’s Day, so dates you might expect to be popular and in high demand. We just chose this date as an example.
Guess what we discovered! We found 15 hotels that cost less than $500 for the two nights. That’s including all taxes and fees, minus the value of the credit card rebate. That works out to less than $250 per night, for everything, in downtown Vancouver, and on the weekend of Valentine’s Day. That’s impressive for Vancouver!
What’s more? We found one hotel where a 2-night stay in a room with a queen-sized bed cost just $282 after all taxes, fees and rebates. That’s just $141 a night! And it’s a 3-star, eco-certified hotel located within easy walking distance of Stanley Park, Robson Street and Denman Street!
We also found four hotels for less than $400 for the two nights, including two places for less than $350. Another hotel, the Pinnacle Harbourfront, cost $442, which is also a fabulous deal. It’s even better than that, though, because the price for the Pinnacle also includes two nights of free parking!
We found more expensive hotels with good deals too if you really want to treat yourself. The Westin Bayshore Hotel, for example, cost about $814 for two nights after taxes and fees when we checked, but just $589 after you deduct the value of the $225 Mastercard gift card you’ll receive (and the Westin Bayshore is a beautiful resort hotel)! When we did another search online, to price compare, Trivago said the best price it could find was $168 more than the StayVancouverHotels.com deal after taxes and fees.

Where You Can Stay for Less than $500 on the Valentine’s Day Weekend
You can find some really good deals when you book hotels in downtown Vancouver on the website StayVancouverHotels.com! Below are the 15 hotels we found for less than $500 for the nights of February 14th to 16th in 2025. All prices were as of when we looked on the morning of January 12th and included all taxes and online fees. (Note: Prices will fluctuate depending on when you look. The value of the Mastercard gift card varies between $150 and $250 depending on the hotel.)

If you stay in a suite at the Residence Inn by Marriott, on the other hand, it’ll cost $546 which includes breakfast for two on both days. There are good deals at other hotels on the same dates too, and on other dates as well.

When Making Your Reservation and Payment
- For qualifying stays during the campaign’s run, you receive your gift cards at the time of check-in at your hotel. You don’t have to wait weeks for the rebate to arrive in the mail, which is awesome. You get it right away, and you can spend it anywhere that accepts Mastercard credit cards (including at your hotel you’re staying in).
- When making your reservation online, double-check the details carefully. Are you selecting the correct dates, type of room and number of occupants? And does the confirmation page show the correct bonus offer (given that credit gift card bonuses aren’t the only option). Make sure everything is correct before clicking “confirm.”
- Also before selecting a place to stay and then clicking “confirm,” double-check the final price. Depending on the hotel and basic room rate, taxes and fees can cost between about $25 and $50 or more per night. A small number of the hotels, though, charge a fair bit in extra fees, like occasionally as much as over $100 including taxes.
