We’re only a few sleeps away from Kommunity Fitness opening the doors to its new Kitsilano studio, which means the neighbourhood’s thriving wellness and fitness scene just got a little bigger. Known for its circuit-style workouts and community spirit, Kommunity first opened back in January of 2024 in the heart of Yaletown, blending the convenience of at-home-style workouts with the expertise of expert trainers for guests of all fitness levels.

The fitness studio prioritizes inclusivity above all else, so rest assured that you don’t have to be a gym rat or fitness guru to appreciate its group workouts.

With 50-minute classes featuring individual workout stations, the new Kitsilano location will build upon Kommunity’s signature offerings. Each workout station will feature a 75-inch screen displaying detailed tutorials on how to do each workout.

Guests can also expect more custom DJ playlists, a state-of-the-art sound system, and a team of instructors committed to helping them meet their personal goals.

“We created Kommunity to offer a space that goes beyond a workout,” says Aaron Keay, founder of Kommunity. “It’s an environment where people can show up as they are, get stronger together, and feel supported along the way. Fitness should be fun, inclusive, and rooted in connection, and we look forward to bringing Kommunity’s energy to Kitsilano.”

Ready to try it out for yourself? Kommunity is offering first-timers two free classes during opening week (Sept. 2 to 6, 2025).

What does each workout at Kommunity Fitness look like?

Kommunity’s full-body workouts combine high-intensity strength and cardio intervals with heart-pumping cardio (no treadmills allowed!), and targeted resistance training with all kinds of equipment.

A fitness showdown and community celebration

Right on the heels of the new Kits studio opening, the fitness studio has announced its new high-intensity, high-stakes fitness showdown: The TENZ Games.

Taking place on Sept. 6, 2025, the competition and celebration will be 100 per cent community-powered, involving groups of four (two women and two men) taking on 10 stations testing strength, strategy, and teamwork. After the competition, participants will unwind with tasty food and drinks, wellness experiences, and the chance to win $10,000 in cash prizes.

Oh, and $7,000 goes to the winning team!

When does the new Kommunity location open?

Kommunity Kitsilano officially opens its doors on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025. So mark your calendars, take advantage of a free class or two, or look into some membership options if you’re ready to start building your community at Kommunity.

Right now, the fitness studio is offering unlimited classes for 10 days for $99 per person, which is exclusive to the new Kits location.

The Rookie Pass is also available for $50 for three classes, as is the $399 all-access monthly pass, which gets you unlimited visits at Kommunity and Cycle Collective.
