Vancouver Jazz Festival Venues | Vancouver's Best Places Canada Reviews

The Vancouver International Jazz Festival offers numerous free and ticketed concerts in downtown Vancouver, Granville Island, and on the North Shore.

Performances take place at the venues listed below on various days between the third week of June and Canada Day most years. In 2024, the festival runs from June 21st until June 30th (so ending one day before Canada Day).

Vancouver Jazz Festival

The Vancouver International Jazz Festival takes place from June 21st to June 30th in 2024.

2nd Floor Gastown

This live music venue is located inside Water St. Café. The building is located at 300 Water Street in Gastown. The schedule of concerts at 2nd Floor Gastown is listed below. Prices for shows in 2024 range from about $6 to $18 per person.

BlueShore Financial Centre for the Performing Arts

Located at Capilano University at 2055 Purcell Way in North Vancouver, the BlueShore Financial Centre for the Performing Arts hosts a couple of ticketed concerts in 2024. Admission to the first show starts at $30, whereas admission to the second show starts at $40. This year’s schedule for late June is below.

Fortune Sound Club

There’s one show at Fortune Sound Club during the 2024 Vancouver International Jazz Festival. The night club is located at 147 East Pender Street in Vancouver. Tickets for the concert cost about $37 each. Additional details are below.

Frankie’s Jazz Club

Located at 755 Beatty Street, Frankie’s Jazz Club hosts at least one concert each day throughout the 2024 festival. Prices vary depending on the show, ranging from $10 up to $50 per person. The schedule for this venue is listed below.

Gallery Bistro

Gallery Bistro hosts a brand new event for the 2024 Vancouver International Jazz Festival. It’s called Behind the Curtain with Coastal Jazz. The event begins at 10:00 am on Sunday, June 23rd. It features a performance and speech by John Hollenbeck, as well as backstage tours of the venue. There are also food and drinks available. Tickets cost about $150 per person.

Georgia Street Stage

This stage is in the north plaza outside the Vancouver Art Gallery at the corner of Georgia Street and Hornby. Shows at this location are free to enjoy.

Note: Since 2018, the plaza’s official name is šx????n?q Xwtl’e7énk Square (where the Indigenous word is pronounced, very approximately, Hootlacken). šx????n?q Xwtl’e7én is used in the local Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh and Squamish First Nations’ cultures for places where important cultural gatherings like weddings and funerals take place. Granville Island Locations

Jazz concerts take place most days on Granville Island during the 2024 Vancouver International Jazz Festival at a few locations. There are three different stages with free music, along with some ticketed performances at one of the venues.

Ocean Art Works Stage Concerts

An outdoor pavilion with a roof overhead, Ocean Art Works is located at 1531 Johnston Street on Granville Island. The location made its festival debut in 2021 and has quickly become a much-used venue. Shows that are free to attend at the venue this year are listed below.

Guilt & Co.

Guilt & Company is a bar at #1 Alexander Street in Gastown. It’s also a popular place for live music throughout most of the year. Vancouver Playhouse

Located at 600 Hamilton Street, the Vancouver Playhouse is a Civic Theatre venue. There are two shows at this theatre for the 2024 Vancouver International Jazz Festival. Both are ticketed concerts featuring popular artists. Details are below.

JAZZ IN FORT LANGLEY

Another awesome music festival is the Fort Langley Jazz & Arts Festival. In 2023 it took place from July 20th to 23rd. Artists at the festival included the Ruthie Foster Band, The Harpoonist & the Axe Murderer, My Son the Hurricane, Five Alarm Funk, Crystal Shawanda, and other bands. In 2024 the festival in Fort Langley returns on the weekend of July 25th to 28th.

If you like Jazz, you’ll definitely want to check out this festival too. It’s always impressive!
