If you’re looking for a New Year’s Eve plan, Grouse Mountain is once again setting the bar sky-high with a vibrant celebration high above the city.

The iconic mountain destination is officially celebrating 100 years next year, kicking off the celebrations with an epic New Year’s Eve event that sets the tone for its centennial year in 2026 — and the party is going all the way past midnight.

A full evening of festivities

On Wednesday, Dec. 31, Grouse Mountain will be extending its opening hours and pulling out all the stops! Guests can expect a full evening of skiing, snowboarding, skating, live music, cultural experiences, and — of course — fireworks.

Fireworks take centre stage twice during the night, with an early family-friendly display at 7 p.m., followed by a pyro musical show at midnight.

Most New Year’s Eve activities are included with the purchase of a Mountain Admission Ticket, Lift Ticket, or a valid Grouse Mountain Pass. Plus, for New Year’s Eve only, there is a special $39 Evening Ticket, granting access to the mountain and skiing or riding after 8 p.m.

For a limited time, families can also take advantage of a 50 per cent discount on a Family Annual Pass, with the option to apply the cost of a day ticket toward an Annual Pass purchase.

Dine on the mountain

Be sure to come hungry! While several dining experiences are already fully booked on the night, Altitudes Bistro will be hosting food and drink specials alongside a DJ set spinning until the midnight countdown.

Altitudes’ menu has plenty of dishes perfect for enjoying with friends or family, including shareables like the famous Grouse Mountain Nachos and classic comfort eats like the Peak Burger.

Snowshoe under sparkling lights

One of the most popular experiences of the evening is the complimentary guided Snowshoe Tour around the Blue Grouse Lake trail system.

The 45-minute tour winds through the Light Walk, past the híwus Feasthouse, and back toward the Mountaintop Skating Pond, with free snowshoes provided for anyone who wants to take part. Tours are currently fully booked, but guests can still join the waitlist for a chance to participate. Fingers crossed!
