In Vancouver, that means there are tons of free-to-attend street festivals on the horizon, celebrating Vancouver’s cultural diversity. So grab your forks and walking shoes and get ready to mark your calendars.

This April, the second annual Lapu-Lapu Day Block Party will take over the heart of South Vancouver, kicking off Asian Heritage Month with a celebration to remember. Visitors can expect delicious street food, iconic live performances, craft vendors, and basketball tournaments.

Hosted by the Hellenic Canadian Congress of BC (HCCBC), the 51st Annual Greek Day on Broadway will span multiple blocks throughout Kitsilano in the heart of Greektown.

Taking place between MacDonald Street, Blenheim Street, and West Broadway from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., the celebration promises to be bigger and better than ever, with authentic Greek food, live music, and traditional performances lined up.

Italian Day on the Drive is Vancouver’s largest cultural street festival, transforming all 14 blocks of Commercial Drive into a lively celebration with fresh gelato and cannolis, patio sips, and plenty of pizza and pasta to go around!

Vancouver’s largest free music and arts festival is back, taking over West 4th Avenue with over 50 live music performances by Vancouver’s top artists, an array of local artisans, and food trucks galore. Created by the Kitsilano West 4th Avenue Business Association in 2011, the beloved tradition has blossomed into a 10-block street fair that tops the list of every Vancouverite every summer.

Every year, one of the largest Japanese Canadian festivals in the country takes over the historic Powell St. neighbourhood, AKA Vancouver’s Japantown. The festival showcases the art, culture, and heritage of the Japanese Canadian community through a wide range of performances, exhibitions, and traditional eats, so stay tuned for more 2025 info to come!
