While September has largely felt like an extra month of summer, cooler, crisper days are ahead, as are earlier sunsets. The good news is that we won’t have to worry about daylight saving time ending until November, which gives us time to ease into the season ahead. But not before we enjoy the last 7 p.m. sunset of the year!

When is Vancouver’s last 7 p.m. sunset?

According to Time and Date, Vancouverites can enjoy 7 p.m. (or later) sunsets until Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, when the local sunset time is 7 p.m. exactly.

After that, the sun will begin setting at 6:58 p.m., until it eventually reaches 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025.

On the plus side, we still have well over a month before we officially “fall back” an hour and daylight saving time ends.

A mixed bag of weather

Vancouver has been blessed with a ton of sunshine in the forecast recently, and it looks like there’s more on the way. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) forecasts that the sun will stick around until Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, with periods of rain to come on the weekend.

That means you’re in for a handful of spectacular sunsets this week, at the very least.

So head to the beach, go on a neighbourhood walk, or set up a blanket at the park. Soak up these later sunsets while you can, because it won’t be long before Raincouver is back in full swing.
